Facilitation

Judi Sherman & Associates’ approach to facilitation is a mix of art and science. It is fundamental to working with collaborative groups to achieve their impact goals of social and systems change. Facilitation, in its broadest sense, creates a space for learning together and sharing diverse perspectives to create a path toward meaningful change. It is an inclusive process and foundational to all services provided.

Social Service and Social Change

Social change efforts focus on the root causes of the conditions that drive the need for social and other services. Often, those causes are a result of inequality of access to resources and the distribution of power. Services organizations often hold a vision and mission that reflects their desire to change these systemic conditions, while their services are focused on the individual. The integration of service and social change expands the work of nonprofits to work directly with their constituents to promote policy advocacy, civic engagement, and community development activities.

Constituent engagement is key to working towards systems and social change. Judi Sherman & Associates works with you to develop a social change plan that integrates residents and participants in all efforts including mission focus, developing capacity to advocate for individuals and systems change, and partnering with other organizations to collectively promote change.

Research and Field Capacity Building

Academic and field research results in understanding the social context for service and practice and leads to advancing capacity, advocacy and social policy. Through study, reflection, and engagement, Judi Sherman & Associates translates learning so that it is accessible to individuals, organizations and the broader field of family strengthening through coaching, training, facilitation and publishing.
